Sense of Humour at Work

Working is important, but working non-stop is harmful for your health. You wake up every boring morning, have your boring breakfast, boringly rush to work and then bore your day away attending boring meetings and being boringly attacked by your boss. Sometimes you get so serious that you feel that you can't take it anymore, the main functions of your best serious friend (your brain that is) start playing jokes on you tricking you into having constant insomnia. Mind that they probably hint at your excessive tense seriousness which has already turned into obsession you cannot get rid of.
In order not to end up brainless (headless, mindless – choose the 'best' variant), you should try to relax at work as well. If you don't you won't have any strength or desire to play jokes at home either because all you will be happy to 'joke with' is Morpheus. Joking in his sleepy arms isn't effective at all, ya know!
That' why we advise you to show your sense of humour at work. Be funny but don't cross the offending-your-boss-or-colleagues limits, otherwise your excessive sense of humour may 'help' you end up dancing in the streets making fun of yourself begging for money. And since you're not ready to become an original vagabond yet (maybe in about seven hundred years) – treat the issue of senseofhumouring at work seriously.
Joking at work is a very delicate thing indeed. At home you can easily speak about your boss's anything that made you laugh your inner belly laughter, discuss your colleagues' stupid ways and laugh at them with your family (when you are sure nobody's neither listening nor watching you of course). While at work you should be especially careful with your jokes.
Our first recommendation is avoid all possible types of humour but 'good-humourness'. That means no sarcasm, black jokes, not even irony allowed! Joke about innocent things, sugar your humour with subtle flattery for male superiors and compliments for the ladies. If you have an irresistible desire to spice the whole sugar-coated thing up with a juicy chilly joke – try to pretend you're a fortune teller and predict what your spicy joke may result in. If you think it will make others smile – go for it!
These reflections bring us to a constructive conclusion that expressing your sense of humour at work will only bring extra positive bonuses both to your reputation and psychological occasionally stressed-out condition. However, you should acutely feel the situation i.e. know for sure where you can joke and where you cannot, or, for instance, how certain colleagues of yours may react to this or that joke.
To cut a long story short, you should possess some qualities of a psychic/ psychologist to express your sense of humour successfully at work. In certain situations you should think twice before cracking certain jokes at work, at some moments you just have to joke! That's why switch on your right-time-and-place instincts, follow our useful tips and you'll certainly joke smart at work!
